About the directors
Julia Sammut and Stacey-Lea Clark are a filmmaking duo based in Melbourne, Victoria. CABIN 217 was first thought up during Covid, and through their mutual love for all things suspense. Julia holds a Bachelor of Film & Television, and has experience as a producer and production designer, having volunteered with Channel 7 and Channel 9. Her directing debut was the short, LAST FRIDAY NIGHT, which was selected for five film festivals and won Best International Short Film at the AlohaStream Film Festival. She takes inspiration from the environment around her, and aspires to create works with both humour and heart like Greta Gerwig. With a Bachelor of Arts and a major in film and television, this is Stacey-Lea's directing debut, marking her first foray in roles behind the camera.
